5 Things From The 1920s You Need in The 2020s
Happy happy new year everyone!
Hope you had wonderful holidays, I’m still slightly recovering from the New Years Eve Party! Can you believe that it’s already 2020? (oh I cannot!) I also can’t believe that exactly 100 years ago, the most fabulous era of fashion had started. I have mentioned on my Instagram several times that I’m (over the top) obsessed with the Netflix series Peaky Blinders and their fashion… Today I am celebrating the arrival of the new 20s by jumping back to their era and dressing like my favorite female character; Polly Gray - the most powerful and strong woman I’ve ever seen and she is also such a fashionista - I adore her mixture of feminine & bad ass style. Since I became obsessed with the show, she has been my icon for everything!

Even our holiday card was inspired by them! New years party? - Of course we dressed “Roaring 20s”!
So today, I’m sharing my Polly inspired fashion as my first post of the year/decade while I’m listening to the roaring 20s station (on repeat)!
VOLUMED (faux) FUR
The more volumed fur, the better - but hey it’s 2020, let’s consider wearing faux fur!
PEARLS AND RICH FABRICS
Gorgeous small details are always important, even in the texture: silk and velvet are the top two for 20s fashion! You know I’ve been obsessed with pearls and I will continue loving the gems!
SKINNY FRINGE
I used to wear a lot of fringe when I was more into super bohemian/cowgirl style, I stopped for a while because my style was transitioning, and now my love for fringe came back but skinnier - string skinny fringe makes the fit seem vintage and classic!
CLASSIC HIGH HEELS
There is a quote of Polly I love - “If I come for you, and I still might yet decide to come for you, I will wear high heels so you can hear my approach on the cobblestones and have time to repent. You listen to my footsteps.” - AHH! She is such a strong and confident human being!
Great things never age… It is one of the reasons I love vintage things!
I cannot wait for Peaky Blinders Season 6 to come and see what the drama and fashion will be like! Hope 2020 is full of lovely days for everyone and thank you always for visiting here!
