Welcome to my blog!

I'm Rié; pronounced "RI-ay", and I blog about outfits, style tips, sustainable life, yummy recipes, my ordinary days, ballerina life - pretty much all about my life!

I started this blog to express more about my fashion style and my style ideas to wear the items in so many different ways since I never repeat the same outfits, meanwhile I am pressuring sustainable fashion and life style simultaneously. I also would love to share my life as a fashion lover slash a professional ballet dancer, also a normal human being.

 - A BIT MORE ABOUT ME -

I was born and raised in the SUSHI country: Japan, living in the US for almost 12 years. I was a professional ballet dancer and am now the Assistant Ballet Mistress of First State Ballet Theatre and ballet is the reason I came to America. I recently retired from performing after dancing for 25 years. - Currently based between Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE, but I’ve lived in Washington D.C., Wisconsin, South Carolina, and Florida; pretty much all over the east coast!

I was always into fashion since a young age. - I used to dress up my little sister (I was 8 y/o, she was 3 y/o haha) and snapped her photos, then handmade “fashion magazines”. I also used to have a fashion blog back in Japan when I was a teenager, featuring my “Mori-girl style”; ‘Mori’ means forest in Japanese, and Mori-girl style is earth tone colored with lots of lace and embroidered things, really nature themed girly style. I wish I still had the blog!

So I think my love for country-side style came from there. And then as I get older and exploring America’s big cities more, I started putting urban spice to my look. And now here I am.

I have been obsessed with cottage core style with a hint of the 1920’s fashion.

My style has been featured on Free People Office BLDG 25 blog and I had my first photoshoot with Free People. Since then, I’ve gotten more serious about doing fashion in America, in English - it’s not easy for me to do this in my second language! But my love and passion for fashion can’t let me stop!

Fun facts: I’m married to my hubby Eddie who I met through ballet, we’ve been married for 9 and a half years! And we are expecting our first baby boy this summer! We are absolutely thrilled!

Hope my blog brings you a little joy, confidence, and happiness! Come visit me if you are bored and want to kill your time too, you are more than welcome here!
