4 (and more) Sustainable Fashion Brands You Can Afford and Trust

So I recently announced that I’VE STOPPED SHOPPING AT FAST FASHION BRANDS…

As much as I adored and talked about those “useful” fast fashion brands, since this past summer I’ve stopped shopping at fast fashion brands and switched to brands that are focusing on sustainability, artisan made, or respectfully traded. For purchasing something new, “sustainability” and “who made the article of clothing and how it’s made” weren’t my first priority. It’s never too late to start but I wish I had started this shopping style earlier… I’ve been really passionated to learn about sustainable fashion and researching a lot about it, and today I’m sharing brands that make shopping ethically an affordable experience. Let’s direct our conscious spending towards apparel that makes us feel and look good, without breaking the bank!

From growing the cotton to dyeing and finishing, it takes over 2000 gallons of water just to make ONE PAIR OF JEANS! Levi’s focuses on the finishing precesses to remove water wherever possible with its Water < Less Collection, which it says uses up to 96% less water to make.

What’s your favorite Levi’s style? Mine is 550!

Each item in the Conscious Collection has an aspect that lessens its environmental impact, like organic cotton or recycled polyester. The best part is that styles start at just $10 so you don’t have to spend a fortune on sustainable fashion. The H&M Group parent company says overall it uses 57% recycled or sustainably sourced fibers, with a goal to reach 100% by 2030.

This addition has been called as a “huge move” for ASOS, as the brand known first and foremost for affordable, fast fashion that has made it a favorite among young consumers. By working with eco-friendly brands and global initiatives, they’ve put together an edit of clothing, accessories, and beauty products that fit within their criteria for sustainability.

All of cotton garments from this brand are certified organic by GOTS (The Global Organic Textile Standard), so you know the entire manufacturing process follows organic guidelines. They are also Fair Trade Certified, which looks at ethical factors like wages and working conditions.

The clothes themselves are mostly soft and comfy staples that you can wear everyday. This brand also makes clothing for the whole family!

The more I researched, the more I found out about the facts of so many brands, and there are countless sustainable fashion brands out there, which made me oh so excited! Here are more sustainable fashion brands that I have my eyes on. They are not as affordable as the ones above, but definitely worth to save up and treat myself.

I’ve made a change to my shopping/life style and hope it makes a tiny bit of difference to the world… It already has made a difference to my mind set. Ride along with my new fashion journey, and let me know if you have any suggestions and such! I’d love to know more about sustainable fashion!

HAVE A MAGICAL WEEK EVERYONE!
